Due to unprecedented demand and supply chain challenges, including delays to the delivery of new cylinders which are beyond our control, we have had to review the issuing of new cylinders across the range. In order to prioritise the return of cylinders into our supply chain for refilling, we need to ensure that customers with a Cylinder Refill Agreement can receive a filled cylinder in exchange for an empty and therefore our guidance is as follows:
- All cylinders are now on a one-for-one basis and there will be no new issues (of Cylinder Refill Agreements) available.

Patio gas
Since we’re already looking forward to lit the barbecue, we have a range of Calor patio gas bottles available in our webshop. We ensure Calor gas bottles give you the best BBQ experience. How to connect your gas barbecue to the gas bottle? 
- Place the gas bottle close to the barbecue, so the hose doesn’t stretch.
- Make sure the top of the patio gas bottle valve is clean.
- Turn the switch on the regulator to the ‘off-position'.
- Push the regulator down onto the gas bottle valve and press downwards firmly until you hear the audible ‘click’.
- Turn the gas on, by turning the switch to the ‘on-position'.
- After use, always turn the switch to the ‘off-position'.
Propane gas bottle
Propane gas is mainly used for heating and cooking. We offer various sizes of propane gas bottles. Small propane gas bottles of 3.9kg are ideal for industrial uses and DIY tools, including small industrial burners and blowtorches. If you’re travelling or on holiday by caravan or motorhome, propane gas bottles can help fuel heating and cooking. Bigger touring cars and static caravans can use larger gas bottles, like the 13kg or 19kg propane gas bottle. You can use propane gas bottles even on narrow boats and catering vans. Butane gas bottle
Butane gas bottles are ideal for outdoor use. If you live near our garden centre and you want to exchange an empty gas bottle for a new one, visit our garden centre. Butane gas bottles can be used for all camping, caravanning and portable heating needs. Buy butane gas bottles in our garden centre in Ripley and use it for indoor portable heaters, as well as camping and single-burner appliances. Propane or butane gas?
The difference between propane and butane gas is the point of boiling. Propane has a boiling temperature of -42 degrees Celsius, whilst butane has a boiling point of -2 degrees Celsius. Propane gas is therefore ideal for use in cold weather as it does not wax in the connection. Also, propane gas exerts significantly more pressure than butane gas at the same temperature. If you order a Calor gas bottle from our webshop, we offer a collecting service from our garden centre. There will be no extra costs if you pick your order at our garden centre. Bring your empty gas bottle with you if you wish to exchange your used bottle. You can safely pay by debit or credit card.
